Privacy Policy

Effective: 1 November 2026

GolRadar is run by UMUT AKYIGIT ("we"). This policy explains what data the GolRadar app and website process, why, and for how long.

In short

  • You don't need to create an account or give us your name or email.
  • No ads, no tracking, no selling of data. We measure how the app is used anonymously with PostHog; no name, IP address or advertising ID is sent.
  • You can delete your data at any time with "Delete my data" in the app.

1 Data we process

Anonymous account. When you first open the app, our server creates a random ID and access key. This ID contains no name, email or phone number. To compare some options in the app, the account may be assigned to a random group (A or B).

Preferences. The leagues and prediction types you choose, the app language and your notification choices (Daily report, Live predictions).

Time zone. The app sends your device's time zone (for example Europe/London) so that "today" follows your local time. A time zone does not reveal your location.

Notification details. If you allow notifications, we store the notification token Apple gives your device, and your time zone. We keep a short record of which notification went out on which day, so the same report isn't sent twice and the daily limit is respected.

Subscription details. If you subscribe, we store the transaction details Apple sends us: transaction ID, product, subscription status and expiry date. We never see your card or payment details; Apple takes the payment.

Invite details. Your invite code, how many times its link has been opened in total and, if you entered an invite code, which one. We don't record who opened a link. To limit repeated wrong code attempts, we keep the times of attempts for a short period.

Usage events. The app sends PostHog short, predefined event names about how it is used: for example, that the subscription screen was opened, a plan was chosen, a purchase finished or a notification was opened. Each event carries your anonymous ID, your A/B group, whether you have Premium, and the app language and version. Our server adds subscription events from Apple (such as trial started, renewed or cancelled) with the plan, price and currency. No name, no text you type and no advertising ID are sent; PostHog is set to discard IP addresses. Nothing is screen-recorded.

Where you came from. The first time you open the app, it gets a one-time token from Apple's own measurement tool (AdServices), and our server uses it to ask Apple whether you downloaded the app from an App Store ad (Apple Ads). If you did, we keep the campaign, ad group and keyword numbers Apple returns, and the country. If you joined with an invite code, the source is marked "invite"; the code itself is not part of this. If both apply, the one recorded first stays; if neither, we only note that you came some other way. No advertising ID is read and you are never asked for tracking permission. This information is linked to your anonymous account, is also added to your profile in PostHog and is used only for analysis. "Delete my data" deletes it too, including in PostHog.

Technical logs. Our server writes the IP address, time and requested address of each request to technical logs. We use these logs only for security and troubleshooting.

The website does not use cookies.

2 Why we process it

  • To run the app: showing predictions, applying your preferences, verifying your subscription. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • To send notifications: only the kinds you allowed and chose. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings at any time.
  • To understand how the app is used and improve it, for example to see which subscription screens work. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
  • To understand where new users come from (App Store ads, invites or elsewhere) and which sources lead to subscriptions. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, such as automated invite code attempts. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.

3 Who we share it with

  • Apple: notifications are sent through the Apple Push Notification service, and subscriptions are handled by the App Store. Our server also sends Apple a one-time measurement token to learn whether you came from an Apple Ads ad. Apple's own privacy policy applies.
  • Hosting: our server runs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in the Frankfurt (Germany) region.
  • PostHog: our usage measurement service. It stores usage events on servers in the European Union.

We share data with no one else and we don't sell it. We get match data from outside sources; no data about you is sent to them.

4 International transfers

Our server is in the Frankfurt (Germany) region, usage events are stored in the European Union, and Apple's services may run in other countries. Your data may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. We make these transfers with the safeguards required by applicable data protection law.

5 How long we keep it

  • Anonymous account, preferences, source, subscription and invite details: until you delete them with "Delete my data".
  • Notification token and delivery records: until Apple tells us the token is no longer valid, or until you delete your account.
  • Usage events: until you delete your data with "Delete my data", and for no longer than 12 months.
  • Technical logs: 30 days.

If you delete your account, the text of your code stays in the records of people who joined with it, but it is no longer linked to you.

6 Deleting your data

In the app, go to Settings > Delete my data. Your anonymous account on our server and everything linked to it are deleted straight away; this can't be undone. We also ask PostHog to delete the usage events linked to your ID. Cancel your subscription with Apple separately. Purchase records that Apple keeps are Apple's responsibility.

7 Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the GDPR in the EU and the UK GDPR in the United Kingdom, the LGPD in Brazil, or US state privacy laws), you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. The fastest way to delete is "Delete my data". For other requests, write to support@golradar.online. Because we don't hold your name or email, we may ask for extra information to confirm which anonymous account a request is about. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8 Age

GolRadar is for ages 18 and over. We do not knowingly process data from anyone under 18.

9 Security

Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted with HTTPS. Your access key is stored on your device in the iOS Keychain.

10 Changes

If we change this policy, we update the effective date at the top and announce important changes in the app.
